Crater Lake National Park is one of America’s oldest national parks, founded in 1902 in Southern Oregon. It is arguably one of the most beautiful.
Two hours south of Redmond, the park is always open, but some of the roads and facilities are closed during the winter. Rim Visitor Center is open from May-September. Its depth of 1,943 feet makes it the deepest lake in the United States. The lake was created by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama.
