Member Spotlight: Redmond Kiwanis

The Redmond Chamber is proud to spotlight Redmond Kiwanis, a community service organization that has been making a difference in Redmond for nearly 90 years.

Focused on improving the lives of children and families, Redmond Kiwanis works alongside youth-centered organizations, local partners, and community members to create lasting impact. From scholarships to parks and recreation projects, their work can be seen throughout Redmond.

Serving Redmond Since 1937

Redmond Kiwanis was chartered in 1937, beginning a long tradition of community service that continues today.

Over the decades, the organization has supported projects and programs that strengthen opportunities for local youth and families. Their contributions include helping build and maintain community spaces such as Sam Johnson Park, the American Legion Little League field, the Redmond Swim Center, and the upcoming outdoor playground at The Hub.

These projects reflect the organization’s belief that strong communities are built by investing in places where children and families can learn, play, and connect.

Investing in Local Youth

One of Redmond Kiwanis’ biggest areas of impact is its financial support for young people and the organizations that serve them.

Each year, the organization awards approximately $50,000 in scholarships and funding to local students and youth-focused organizations.

That support helps expand access to education, activities, resources, and opportunities for children throughout the Redmond area. It is a direct investment in the next generation and in the future of the community as a whole.

Community Through Collaboration

For Redmond Kiwanis, being part of the local business community means working together.

The organization sees Redmond as a place where businesses, nonprofits, and individuals collaborate to make the community stronger both individually and collectively. That same spirit is reflected in Kiwanis’ approach to service, which often depends on partnerships with other organizations and community supporters.

Redmond Kiwanis has also stayed connected through Chamber programs including Coffee Clatter, Lunch and Learn, and the Annual Banquet.
